SpecificationsRosebud Veneer and Plywood

array

All Rosebud Veneer architectural panels are manufactured to meet ANSI/HPVA HP‑1 standards for hardwood plywood. Standard panel size is 4’×8’ with custom sizes available up to 4’×12’. Core options include MDF, particleboard, veneer core, and combination core. Face veneer thickness is a true 1/42” (0.6mm) unless otherwise specified. All panels are pressed with Type I waterproof adhesive and sanded to 150 grit on both faces.

Matching options include book match, slip match, random match, and pleasing match. Sequencing is available on request for projects requiring continuity across multiple panels. Edge banding is available in matching species and grain direction. All panels ship flat on pallets with protective packaging. Lead time is typically 2–4 weeks for standard species, 4–8 weeks for exotic or custom specifications. FSC‑certified options available for LEED projects.

Technical Details

ANSI/HPVA HP-1 is the industry standard for hardwood and decorative plywood. It covers face veneer grades (AA, A, B, C, D, E), core construction, bond durability, moisture content, dimensions, squareness, and sanding quality. Rosebud panels meet or exceed these standards.

Face grades: AA grade has matched color and grain with no visible defects. A grade allows minor color variation. B grade permits pin knots and slight color streaks. Custom grades available for specific project requirements.

Core construction affects panel stability, screw-holding capacity, and weight. MDF core provides the smoothest face for veneer, particleboard core is cost-effective for cabinetry, veneer core offers the best strength-to-weight ratio, and combination core balances all properties.

For moisture-sensitive applications like bathrooms, spas, or exterior soffits, we recommend marine-grade cores with Type I waterproof adhesive. All veneer faces can be finished with conversion varnish, catalyzed lacquer, or polyurethane for maximum durability.
